Thanks for writing. No offense taken. Very fair question.

I've always had a lot more success betting underdogs...when I find a favorite that I like, I win a lot less of those, so mostly if I like a fave I'll just pass and look for a better game. However, a bunch of people have told me over the years that when they hear me say (either in print, or online, or on a radio show) that I can' make a case for an underdog, they say they bet the favorite and have done very well. Again, not sure why it doesn't work when I bet those faves LOL

I mostly prefer when I find an underdog that I think can win the game outright, and then the added points are a bonus...obviously it's a different mindset when taking a 14-point dog vs. a 3-point dog.

Hey Dave,
been listening to you on Marc Lawrence's radio show for a while now and finally checked out your awesome site... I really love how you uniquely cover these contests as well as posting your picks (I remember when you were in like 68th spot or something not too long ago...way to go man!!)
anyyyyyyyways I got a couple of lines I was wondering your opinion on. I WAS liking the Cardinals cause Im getting them at + 3.5 and the Chargers which Im getting at -2.5...til I noticed you have the opposite opinion on both those games. Just wondering if you would change your mind/picks taking those half points into consideration... thanks man,

IT OCCURS TO ME THAT TV FOOTBALL IS DETERIORATING...E.G., IN MANY INSTANCES THE SCREEN IS FOCUSED ON ABOUT EVERYTHING BUT THE GAME ITSELF TO INCLUDE A SCREAMING BUNCH OF ADOLESCENTS.
IN ADDITION THE GUYS IN THE BOOTH (MOSTLY THREE) ARE CONSUMED WITH WHERE THEY WERE OR WHAT THEY BELIEVE AND OVERLOAD THE ENTIRE SPECTRUM. GIVE US THE GAME AND A FEW PROMOS WHICH ARE PART OF THE PACKAGE BUT LESSEN THE SUPERFLOUS...

Dave, I have been handicapping football for 20 years. NE was laying 13 at HOME against the Giants, and only won by 3. Now at a nuetral site they open up a 14 point favorite and the public gets sucked into the Giants.. You should LAY THE WOOD as NE will WIN & COVER by 3 TD's.
